As an example of how quick it is to create commands for Ubiquity, Zemanta have already made a command that takes the selected text from a web page and comes up with related tags, articles, pictures and links (the same thing the Zemanta plugin does).

Wow, you noticed this really quickly :) We'd love to hear if it's helping you and in what direction you'd like to see that we take it.

  • Well I'm an avid Zemanta user and I'd recently blogged about Ubiquity so it caught my attention :)

One thing that I noticed right away is that the tags don't do anything when you click on them

Another is that (I guess because of the nature of the Ubiquity popup) you can't preview the links - if you click on them it opens the link and you lose the Ubiquity popup

Also if you have more than a screenfull of text then the suggestions are off the bottom of the screen, though that may just be a Ubiquity problem

As for the direction, you could use it when you're writing an email - select the body of the email and have Zemanta suggest some related items to paste into the email.
