I recently heard about a website called Soup from Andy DeSoto.

Apparently it’s an aggregation service like FriendFeed, Socialthing or Swurl.

To be honest it’s got a few problems – it doesn’t refresh automatically when new content is available and doesn’t even notify you so you can refresh it.

It does have a cool page designer so you can lay your page out the way you want it.  Even better, you can use your own subdomain to redirect to it – check my page out here.

Also it has an infinite scrollbar so you can just keep scrolling back in time without refreshing or changing  pages, which is nice.

  • Hi John-- what exactly do you mean by "it doesn't refresh"? We do update all feeds of course, even though with the new users lately the system has been slightly overwhelmed and the feeds might take up to two hours to refresh. Plus, Twitter's rate-limiting sometimes blocks us for a while...
Or did you expect that the page updates live?
  • Yeah, I expected the page to update whenever there was a new item, or at least show a message to say there are new updates so I can manually refresh the page and see them (like Socialthing and Plurk do)
  • Like your Soup! You're absolutely right with the auto-update thing. I hadn't considered the negative consequences of that at all-- I wonder how much of a disadvantage it is.
